Republican Party of Virginia's RCV Nominating Convention
Glenn Youngkin wins the Republican Party of Virginia 's ranked choice voting nominating convention with 54.71% of the delegates' votes, after six rounds of tabulation.
FairVote Virginia applauds RPV for using an innovative approach to getting to a candidate with consensus support in a highly competitive field. Better results can be achieved with RCV, more safely and efficiently for the voter and administrators, than an assembled run-off with multiple ballots.
Results, round by round, can be viewed on VPAP and RPV's websites. Tabulation for Lieutenant Governor in underway. Jason Miyares won the nomination for Attorney General, with 51.7% of the vote and three rounds of tabulation.
It has been reported that RPV organized diligent security measures and even offered livestream video of the counting and tabulation process.
Over 30,000 Virginians used ranked ballots on May 8th!
Early voting for the June 8th Democratic primary is now available to Virginia registered voters. Currently, Virginia law does not allow for ranked choice voting in state-run primaries.
