VGA Crossover & Donations Now Accepted!
February 11th is Crossover in the Virginia General Assembly. What is Crossover? The Virginia General Assembly has finally reached “Crossover,” which is the halfway point by which each chamber must complete work on its own bills and begin considering legislation passed by the other body. Here's a refresher on How a bill becomes a law in Virginia
What does that mean for Ranked Choice Voting bills? We've reached a celebratory milestone! This is the first year in FairVote Virginia's history of advocating for and tracking bills, and maybe in Virginia's history, that bills proposing ranked choice voting have passed one chamber and will be crossing over to the other!
What we do know, HB506 will next be heard in Senate Privileges & Elections. HB1103 has not been assigned, but will also likely be heard there. Bill Patrons would like RCV enthusiasts to standby while they make their case to key Senators on the P&E committee. Stay tuned for calls to action...
Donations Can Now be Accepted! We've reached another exciting milestone in the history of our organization. We started as a small group of self-funded, citizen advocates and worked hard with limited resources and lots of personal time committed to the cause. We have now grown into a formal 501(c)(4) organization with a professionally skilled, volunteer Board of Directors. Help us continue on our mission to advance RCV in Virginia by scrolling to the bottom of this link to Donate Now!
